Bought a Hyster E30XL, it worked when it got here.

Now it doesn't. We ran power to the charger and charged the battery, the battery shows a full charge but the Hyster gauge shows a CODE -16 which according to the book means the battery is overcharged but when the battery level is checked it shows 47.3 volts.

Anyway, we can't get a peep out of the thing. Has some kind of sensor defaulted or another kind of anomaly taken place. We are in a small town and the Chevy mechanic has no idea. Our yellowed manual mentions a PMT circuit and a SRO circuit but does not explain either one. HELP! Would appreciate the brilliance of someone. Thank you.

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
