Discussion:
Only goes in reverse not forward

A177B19965H HYSTER forklift does everything right but wont go forward. I don't want to scrap it , It looks like I can pull the motor and trans out with ease but I don't know what part to change out or where it is. It doesn't rev up in reverse and don't see any micro switches or silinoids I read a earlier post saying something about springs in break drum? And I don't know if they fixed his lift.

well I repaired it, first you have to pull the engine which was easier than a car , then bell housing when you get to the trans take out all the bolts open the trans with a screw driver and hammer, do that and you will find 2 gear hubs that just fall out so put something soft under it to catch them they shouldn't fall out if you take the cover off carefully. the gear hubs have your forward and reverse clutches those need to be replaced. put it back together works great good for another 30 years
