Discussion:
Omega Lift contaminated fluid?

We have a 10K# Omega Lift 2X all terrain vert mast machine to move cars in a recycling yard. It has 450 hours on it. Friday, a kid went to put diesel in it & put about 2 gallons of green diesel in the hydraulic fluid tank. He ran it several hours before he confessed. Performance doesn't seem to be effected. I'm looking for advice, fluid specs & capacity info. I've looked all over the web & all I can find is that it should hold 29 gallons of fluid.

If it was my lift i would drain and flush the entire Hydraulic system and change the filter(s). Dont know what the temperature range is there in Alabama but the oil viscosity should match your temperature range, you should consult with a local fluids dealer to see what they recommend.
You might be able to get away with just draining and refilling but do you really want to take that chance. The Diesel fuel could play havoc on cylinder/Hyd. valve seals or worse yet the pump seals and pump itself.
