Discussion:
Nothing from the transmisison. Please help. C300

Hello,

This is my first post but I have read and learned a lot already. Thanks!

I have a Clark c300-40 358-34-4375 1984 and I was hoping one of you might be able to help me out.

It starts and runs, forks go up and down, tilts but...

If you move from neutral to forward or reverse absolutely nothing happens. No movement, sounds, vibrations, nothing.

The ATF in the trans looked good but was a little low. I filled it up. The trans filter looked old. I replaced it.

The brake line from the master cylinder goes to what I assume is the inching valve. The other end of the inching valve has a rod with a hole that sticks out about 1/4 and there is an arm on a rod that sticks out of the top of the transmission cover plate very near by but they are not connected. does this mean its been disconnected?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Just let me know what information you need from me or what to test or try.

Thanks
OMB

Yes. Thanks.

There are springs in the inching valve. I took it apart and cleaned it up. The cup/seal is good. However the brakes are out so it wont work till I get that rebuilt. Am thinking about disabling it anyhow. The way I use the lift I dont think it would be an advantage.

I have put the shift lever in forward and reverse and then pulled the arm that the inching valve should pull toward itself and still no change.

I found the planned maintenance manual for this lift but I could really use a service manual if there is one available?

I also found the manual for the universal Hydratork but cant find one for the old one speed regular hydratork.

Thanks

There should be a hole in the end of each rod that a little clevis pin goes through to connect the two together. It sounds like you're missing that pin. There are springs in the inching valve that pull the pin back and that should pull the trans lever towards the inching valve.
