Discussion:
No start after sitting overnight

Call to customer for not starting in the morning at shift start. Of course, while there, it started fine and ran great. Owner says they would have to remove fuel line from tank and release pressure by pushing plunger in the coupling against the truck. Then put it back on and unit would start fine. Regulator has been replaced twice, recently (less than 3 months). Only stayed a half hour to load test battery at his request and check for any obvious damage and or loose wiring. Any suggestions?

Hello there! I have ran across that problem. First i would check for battery voltage at the lp solenoid in the morning if not present, i would check the lp solenoid relay under the fuse box.If voltage is present i would remove lp solenoid from lp regulator (disconnect lp hose and crack line to remove pressure from system) i would check the spring and plunger for lp residue that would cause it to stick and not to open. If clean put spring and plunger back into solenoid, connect and hold away from fan (moving parts ect.) turn engine over and watch to see solenoid pulls spring and plunger in. if it doesnt replace lp solenoid. If solenoid works reinstall connect lp hose to tank. remove lp hose from lp regulator put finger over the port turn over engine and feel for lp fuel. no output means time for new or rebuilt lp regulator. hope this helps.

I had the same problem. The truck in question had the Asian LPG system installed. It was suggested to me on this site to replace the hose between the regulator & the mixer & to replace the battery. I did both those things & haven't had a complaint since.

Did you ever find out what was causing the no start after sitting problem? I am having the same problem, cranks for a very long time then will finally start. After start it runs perfect and starts without even touching pedal.

What I've seen with hard start in the morning is a converter full of tar. If it has a drain plug, get the unit hot and then shut off, drain tar, and repeat.
