Cat Lift Trucks (& Caterpillar) T30D:
No spart at plugs

ok I am no machenic by any stretch of the imagination but I have a Caterpillar T30 that has been down for a while. It wont start. I have replaced the coil with the ignition module, the distributor cap and rotor. I have tested for spark andI have it from the coil to the distibutor cap but nothing out to the plugs. I checked the distibutor it is turning. Then just this morning (3/5/18) I tested the cable to the pick up coil with a meter. I looks good. Then I tested the pick up coil (956 ohms) then tested it with cable (956 ohms) any help would be greatly appreciatted

I would agree that if you have spark from the coil to the cap but nothing from the cap to the plugs you have a cap/rotor or wire issue. I would not use replacement parts from tvh for these parts. If you send a pic if the engine with the distributor I'll see if I have a cross to Napa parts which I've had very good luck with

One thing i would verify...leave,the distributor cap off and crank the motor over and see if the rotor turns...possible there is a issue with the drive gear or something...

If you have spark at the primary coil wire and nothing coming out of the distributor cap, the problem is with the cap, rotor or your plug wires.
