Discussion:
No movement from Traction motor A

My right traction motor doesn't move. I changed the motor out, contactor, and checked the steer limit switches with everything checking out ok. After all of that, with it jacked up, my left tire is the only one that powers forward or backwards. What else am I possibly missing?

I found the issue. The remanufactured motor that was delivered didn't have the brushes fully seated. After spinning the wheel and pushing in on the brushes, it began to work. thanks for the help!

I took all covers off and compared readings for both motors...

The motor working correctly, three of the terminals would go higher in voltage as I increased speed.

The motor that isn't energizing at all, the three terminals all read around 16 volts once I move the throttle forward or reverse.

That tells me i'm getting some power to this motor but is that correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I find it hard to believe I received a bad refurb motor from Crown but I'm sure its a slight possibility. I just don't want to have to change it out again if there is any other checks I could do first.

The motor I changed out completely quit on the operator and wouldn't energize at all. I installed this refurb one and still doesn't even want to move which I would think it would at least try.

As a reminder, I did release brakes and I can rotate the wheel and drive unit just as I can the other side so I don't think it is anything with the drive unit itself. It seems like either a power issue i haven't found yet, or i hit the bad lottery and received a bad motor.

Then yes, if you get power to the motor after the contactor and motor is not turning, motor might be bad. That's rare though.

Nothing is locked up I can spin the wheel when I release the brakes so i don't think it would be that. It's a refurb motor from crown, I wouldn't think it would be bad, but I guess I need to take all the covers back off and verify it is getting power to the motor.
