We just finished installing a new torque converter seal and also replaced the pinion shaft seal. There is now enough air pressure build up in the trans housing to pop the dip stick up and then it spews ATF. We removed the breather on the control valve and there are no restrictions. Any ideas what could be causing this?

It turned out to be the dipstick. The rubber around the bottom was worn and not holding the dipstick down. We sapped the dipstick with another truck now this one stays in and the other one pops out.
Possibly just a simple trans vent stopped/clogged. Try cleaning it and see what happens.
How long does it take for the pressure to build up? Does this happen in neutral as well as in gear? If you are still having the problem and the oil cooler did not help, the problem may be as simple as the filter / screen located under the transmission top cover next to the torque converter. Check to make sure that the screen isnt blocked or full.
restriction in oil cooler/line.
