I have often wondered how people who frequent this forum choose their nick names, when I first visited this forum I was seeking information about a problem I had with a truck but to get info I had to join the forum, how did I choose my nick name.
I was at loss as what to put but I remembered back in the 70s Yale developed a new reach truck the NER035/45 so I decided on on Nero,
I think the letters stud for narrow aisle electric rider but I can't be certain. Edward T seems to be the only person who uses his own names and always gives good technical advice, but more than that he always made you think about your responsibilities to the forum and yourself. Then there's Swoop how many times have I been swooped just when I've composed a good reply to someone's query I go back to the post only to find swoop has got his reply in first.
Anyway let me know how some of you choose your Nick names.

i usually use names of fictional characters

i was watching a movie one night years ago, 'drop zone' with westley snipes, and the one guy they called 'swoop' , well his personality kind of fit mine at the time so i adopted his name from that i suppose. :oD

Well because I am just a guy! 42 years in the business. Seen a lot of changes but still things remain the same. Service guys complaining about parts guys, Sales departments griping about parts departments. It is all our fault! Parts guys well are just_a_guy trying to get by!
I was a fan of the late Burt Kwouk, the bloke who played Kato alongside Peter Sellars in the Pink Panther films.
I worked for BT for years, they had a cartoon advert called BT Bob in some brochures hence my name BobbyT
Just an abbreviation of my surname, had it all the way back from my school days, used to get confusing as I have a twin brother and we both had the same nick name lol!
Have though about changing it to Dr. Forks after a customer called me that when seeing me chase a transmission/diff rumble with a stephoscope.
My last name - I appreciate this form -the experienced techs and parts people - great resource.
Started in business 44 years ago in Parts, moved to Tech and Service Management eventually Sales and Sales Management. I still see myself as an Old Tech and one of the guys.

Because I ride triumph motorcycles. I have been into brit bikes for about 30 years. My BSA B-33 was my favorite though.
