New Hire Bonus

What is the highest hiring bonus that you've gotten?
I understand that Medley in Midland TX is offering $10,000.

I'm not surprised to hear that Medley botched a job and then wouldn't fix it.

From what I hear and see, they pay top dollar to bottom barrel mechanics and then attempt to bill them out at $130/hr for the 6 months they last before quitting.

This post only reinforces that, in addition to jimmy_w's initially shady way of attempting to gather information. Typical Medley.

Ya'll must be having alot of bouncing techs out there right now. That retention bonus is probably a pretty smart move.

Ain't nothing I can't fix but a broken heart and the break of day!
Typically, here in Houston, the sign on bonus (if any) is $2500 although about 6 months ago I was offered $5K but I'm happy where I am and now spend less time turning wrenches than dealing with spread sheets and fleet management. It's kinda of funny that it's Medley though. I had an issue with the Odessa manager when one of their techs botched a tune up and our branch manager in Big Springs got invoiced for almost $3000. It took me a few phone calls to get that straightened out.

At 63 YOA I think I'll just stay where I am.
But, for $5.00 each, I'll provide answers to any questions you have.

Sure Medley offers the same thing we provide a truck or van to drive home. annual raises and of course the hiring bonus. But that not all as a retention Medley is offering $10k for each year of service after year 1.

I have been offered very nice incentives to venture elsewhere but i am completely happy where i am. I do not expect a bonus when and if i ever do change employers. The company i work for has always given me a raise once a year and keep me with a nice vehicle in which to drive home everyday. In my book it beats any new hire bonus as most bonuses results in stagnant raises.

The goal is to hire the best and pay them well. The $10k sign on bonus is just the start.

the most i have ever been offered was $5000.00
i was offered a job at toyota and given that figure as a sign on bonus

it was VERY tempting but i was already employed and happy with were i was at so i declined the offer. Needless to say not long after that offer the manager in place at the time left the company and went elsewhere. I'm not sure how that really would have played out but the offer was like no other i have ever gotten before. They were desperately trying to get a hold on the market share in this area and were doing anything they could to get it apparently.

The highest hiring bonus I ever got was my boss promised me that if I worked a 40 hour week I would receive a 40 hour pay check. And that would be repeated week after week.
40 hours work gets you 40 hours of pay.
