Just snapped this picture this morning, it was sitting there outside a timber warehouse (where you'd expect to see such a machine I guess). I took a good look at the machine but no model numbers or manufacturers name was visible anywhere you'd expect.
Does anyone have any ideas what model number/manufacturer this machine could be?
Thanks for your time.

Linde make a similar looking animal. They have an S30 - S60 diesel sideloader.
definate lancer boss repainted...kind of outdated now..similar to fantuzzi lifts which are a light weight sideloader. As a sideloader dealer we run into a few of these from time to time and usually replace with a baumann.
They are designed to move long lengths of steel, lumber or what have you more easily without having large doorways and in and around a building. Using a regular forklift is much more difficult to move material of this nature through a doorway and it has tendency to start rocking on the forks when you try to move around the load and usually tips and slides off sideway from the forks.
You can pull up next to a flat bed trailer, traverse the mast, pick up the load, retract the mast back and set the load on the deck. It is a much "safer" way of handling long items. They work very well moving flat bar metals that bow when you unload.
The mast drives out from the body. Picks up the load. You then rais ethe load to clear the bed and drive the mast back in. Then drive around as needed
Thanks very much for all the replies. The picture can now be renamed a Boss 546!!
I'm a little confused how you actually pick up a load with one of these machines. Can anyone please explain how it works in practice? I've never seen them in operation before.
Thanks
defo a boss 546. i been crawling under 1 all day.it,s an older one though i think. earlier ones have 2 hinged engine covers deckside
Boss is the manufacturer as in Lancer Boss which were in Leighton Buzzard UK. They where brought out by Jungheinrich which then sold the sideloader division off to Terra industries which now use the brand names of Jumbo & Lancer.
The side loader is a lancer boss,it looks like it has been painted mitsi green by the hirer/supplier.
I dont think mitsubishi make a sideloader.
Is "Boss" the name of the manufacture, or is it the "Model" name? That must be Decal on the side from the dealer.
No, I am 100% sure it is a Boss 546/556, as we look after many of them. I sould think that it was sold by a Mitzi dealer and was painted in Mitzi colours.
I see what looks like a "MITSUBISHI" insignia on the side and the paint color, though faded looks like MITSU green?
Do they make such a beast?
It is a Boss 556 or 546 (5 ton or 4 ton)
