Discussion:
Lowering issue

Hi guys I am perplexed as to an ongoing lowering issue with a wave 50-118 for close to a year now. It started off with a low battery to where it would not come down at all. Now it will do it at random times regardless of charge level where it will come down fine and then the next time lowering will stop about 2 feet up. They try to keep us to where pretty much all work is performed in house unless it absolutely has to go to a tech. The thing is though the tech from Crown has been unable to resolve it either. Having replaced the velocity fuse, lowering switch, the solenoid, and even tried the connecting the traction pod from the other unit to have the same fail. The wiring all checks out and the batteries test fine. They are actually only 4 months old for that matter. I am just curious if there is something else we could be missing? There is 2 other guys in my district experiencing the same issues except with wave 60's and the crown tech is unable to resolve theirs as well. I appreciate any feedback, thanks

Hello, thanks for your reply and sorry for the late response. It wasn't always the same height but more so within a range from 18" to 36" up. After taking some time with it, I did discover there to be a broken wire within the mast cable. It is operating perfectly now.

If there is a problem always at the same height, the mast cable is probably damaged.
