Discussion:
Low/No Brake Pedal Hyster S80E

I have tried 4 different dealers from the Hyster website to get me a parts list for the brakes and the proper service manual so I can dig into this a little deeper without any luck. I read on this forum of an accumulator for the brake system that should be tested as part of the diag process. I want to rule that out before I do anything else. There is a rubber hose exiting the master going to what I believe is the accumulator. Not sure if this is a wet or dry system. I was initially told the master cyl was empty and they added DOT3. Not sure if that was the correct fluid to add, another reason for wanting the correct manual. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Serial is: C004D08139F

Thanks!

Sped wasn't just masts etc don't know if it's the same now but sped would basically make anything the customer wanted at one point. I had a customer with a sped 4 way reach truck that I looked after

Thanks for checking! Good question Alan. What is a SPED option? I have pics of the system and the serial tag. Once I figure out how to post them I'll do so. It is definitely what I posted. Unless the D is a 0, but its pretty clear.

I have looked at this models service manual. It does not show a accumulator. The service manual and the parts breakdown show a simple master cylinder and dry brake system. Your truck may have had a SPED option installed at the factory. I cannot get the serial number to come up. Please check the serial number.
