You could use the relais also to activate a flashing lamp or beacon which you can only reset using a master key of the site manager ??

Thanks for all your reply. Right now, our clien is using load indicator with the sound off buzzer when exceeded. And right now this system never works because of their hard headed forklift operators. Plus the fact that their yard have an uneven flooring which most of the time adds up to the dilemma. Mamagement is now considering to have additional device to protect their forklift units. Buzzers definitely is not working. Your additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

There's no other way.... than to be #1!!!
Dear Karait thanks for your answer - you describe our very accuracte RCS Plus hydraulic weighing device which needs to have the forks lowering action.
Our RCS Overload system works in a different way - it will sense the pressure at all times and gives a buzzer warning when the load exeeds the set limit. We would not recomend to switch out functions of the FLT for the obvious reasons.
We have installed hundreds of those systems all over world and all works good.

I would'nt recomend such solution.
For normal, hydraulic pressure measuring devices like RAVAS or NEXO
the weighing process of the load goes like this:

You get the load, raise it to some prescribed level and push the button. The load goes down (40-70 centimeters - depending on the calibration) and the weighing process is done - you get the result on the display.

Just imagine, that the you exceed the maximum load 5 kG and system will totally shut off your truck with the load raised, somewhere in the middle of the aisle. Total disaster.

I'ld rather trust your truck. When you exceed the load ~ 20% while lifting, the relief valve should simply open and disable the lift.
Or, as PPPA suggested, calibrate your weighing device maximum load on higher level and install some beeper.

I know your deepest secret fear...
J.M.
You'd be better with a audible warning instead of shut off.
You'd need an over-ride on the shut-off so you can get the load off the forks again.

RAVAS Europe BV makes these instruments !
It is called the RCS and works from the hydraulic pressure.
It also works as a load indication device.
For extreme accurate weighing we recommend the iForks !
