Discussion:
Labor Rates

I have been operating a independent forklift repair business in the state of Georgia for a few years and the differences of the labor rates with my competitors always seemed to surprise me. I know it depends on the region, the size and what the company has to offer....I don't want to be to greedy, but at the same time. I would like to increase. Any information would be appreciated. What are the rates in your area? Thanks!

Labor rates also depends on one more thing that is the minimum wage for labors written in agreement. In France, there is convention collective agreement for employee and employer which describes minimum salary and working hours for labor. You can check out for your area code. In most cases, Your door rate means little to the customer. It's the all in, final price after taxes. Some lower rate dealers simply add more hours to the bill. It's your ability to repair, diagnose and be there when they call. They need your expertise, competence and trust. If your customers are happy with your service, Raise your rate as needed.

OEM dealers in this area are all about the same labor rate, independents about 70-80% of that, I think.

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
