Hi, can anyone help with a steering fault,
My truck is an old one with a card on the steering column and a power unit under the arm rest. my problem is no power steering at all. The logic has a display on it for diagnostics and it shows the top bar and the botton bar lit with a small dot in the corner. My info tells me that means the steering head voltage is out of range. I have set up and checked the distances and the voltages for the steering head card and they all seem OK. can anyone point me in the right direction please.
Cheers

Hi Kev,
Check the voltages on the 4 pin connector you should have:

0 volts on two pins (supply and wire brake check)

5 volts (supply)

about 2.5 volts (output which should increase or decrease when you move the steering wheel)

If the output voltage is too high or too low (at the connector not the middle pin of the black hall effect sensor) then its probably the card on the steering column if the output voltage is OK then its probably the steer controller

When you move the card in the steering column, does it attempt to move the steer wheel?
