Discussion:
Joystick replacement

Hello. Bought a linde h35d- 2008- H2X393W01894 and have some error codes regarding the joysticks (T235 - T236 - L222)
Hour count : 9620
Do you think I should replace them and if yes, does a linde technician have to calibrate them etc? Or can I do it with close to zero experience?
Any positive experiences with contact cleaner?
Thanks in advance and thanks for all the great older posts I've read on this site.

Code L222 is one of the joysticks not centered during engine start. With this code you will not have hydraulic functions. Try to center the joysticks when starting. If you are replacing the joysticks stretch the boot around the front two corners and the back corner last, then use the flat part of a flat blade screwdriver to push the boot the rest of the way into the grove. You will usually not need to calibrate.
It is important to have the boot on correctly or dirt gets underneath it and wears out the joysticks again.

I always put a 6mm flat washer on each bolt under the joystick (between the joystick and armrest) to space the joystick up a bit, otherwise you cannot get the rubber boot to go back into place. I dont understand how they manage to do it from the facctory :)

Thanks.
I've purchased all new joysticks, do you have any tips or advice for when I install them?

T235-236 are direction switch faults, it probably just needs a new direction lever.

L222 is a joystick, you can usuallly just change them without calibration but I have the laptop so I always calibrate them.

The black box flight recorder was invented by Australian scientist David Warren in the mid-1950s. While initially met with indifference in Australia, his invention gained international recognition, particularly in the UK, and is now a mandatory piece of safety equipment on all commercial aircraft.
