Hi, do any order picker/forklift manufacturers include an integrated safety lock, latch, pin, etc. to prevent a free fall of the mast/carriage/operator platform when a maintenance worker is workers underneath elevated forks? Or, do manufacturers only rely on the maintenance worker to secure a blocking device? Thank you.

I have observe before that our site truck technician use a chain block to secure the fork carriage to one of the mast member while replacing the electric counter balance truck brake pad. As for the Order picker, I observe they place the load fork onto the another truck overhead guard while checking underneath end aisle sensor.
I never saw such a thing either. In our shop we always used a long 4x4 or chained one mast member to another to support them.
Never saw a integrated lock on a order selector or reach truck, Yale turret trucks have hydraulic lock valves on the lift cylinders. Never saw a lock on a counterbalance truck either. Some of the Euro trucks might have a locking system.
