Discussion:
Hyster R1.6H Fault Codes

Hi Guys,

I have a fault code that can not be found in the manual.

It is Mod 05 VMN High

Any advice on what this code relates to would be great.

Regards,
Alan

I have a hyster reach truck R2.0. It come up with the fault Alarm Mod 05, VMN Low. im having the same problem.

I have had the forlift checked by Briggs who i must say have already charge me a chunk of money and still not fixed my fork lift.

The truck when you switch it on wont reset the drive wheel and therefore will not work and just throw up this code.

My current battery shows 49.9 volts, however i did attach a slave battery to my truck and that showed 51 volts.

When i then started my truck with the slave battery it then showed the same fault code but this time it said VMN High

Can anyone please advise me on how to fix my forklift

Hi
Mod 5 is the AC2 pump controller
VMH high(48V) possible causes

A, there is a problem in the motor cables or the motor power curciuts check the 3 phases are correctly connected also check for earth faults
B, faulty invertor

to check the invertor the pump and drive invertors are exactly the same the only difference is one of them has a link cable on one of the plugs they only take about 20mins to swap around aslo check the wiring to the multipin plug on the invertor i have had quite a few problems with broken wires where they go into the pins

another thing to check that might sound daft but on all the hyster matrix range it is critical that the beacon is ok a faulty or incorrect beacon will throw up all sorts of errors on these trucks i always disconnect it first and a lot of times the error disapears

usually there is a numeric code preceding the Mod 05 VMN high reference.
The Mod 05 refers to the module faulting out if I'm not mistaken.
