how to set timing 4.3L

Hey everyone, i have a gp50 ser#at3350259 with a vortec 4.3L just curious if there is a certain or special way to set base ignition timing and what the spec is? cant find any info if i have to disconnect anything or bypass any sensors.....

A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
