Help on an old forklift

Trying to revive my father in-law's old forklift. It has been sitting for years. Got motor t start. There appears to be water in the transmission, any suggestions on draining/flushing?
I have drained and refilled once, still a bit of water signs.
I can get reverse to work, not forward, any suggestions there?
Any help on locating a service manual would be great. -thanks, R

Be sure to check any shifter boots or spools for water intrusion. Or any openings in top side. I assume its automatic? Possibly radiator rotten causing coolant to leak into trans? Locate pressure test ports and check if fwd and rev show same pressure. Possibly could have bad seals from sitting too long. Much luck to you
