Discussion:
Help identifying the model!

Hello all
I have this old HYSTER forklift that need spare parts but can't find the model. There is a picture of it at my profile pic.
Infos till now:
- Diesel
- 2,5 tons
- 1971
- Serial numer (?): B3A4293R
I'm from Brazil but I think that this machine was imported from the USA.
Thanks in advance!

Hello Fabio
B3A4293R is a good serial number.

B3 is the prefix for the H30-60F series
A is the manufacturing plant identifier for the Hyster plant at
Irvine near Glasgow in Scotland
4293 is the sequential number of the Irvine built trucks
R is the year of manufacture and is for 1971

The OE engine was a Perkins 4.203

At least you know where it was built !

unofficial info. man !
Hi Fabio,

Annoyingly i've just spent 15 mins typing a reply only to lose it (dare i say typical when using forums) just before sending. If you e-mail me i can advise accordingly regarding the direction control and other items. Nothing sinister, i'm based in London England so can't do business with you, but can advise part numbers, tech info etc, and as an independent always happy to help where and when i can, especially when a Manufacturer can't or won't.

The part number for the correct Monotrol direction control pedal is Hyster Part Number 126430 and it's still available in Europe, couldn't advise regarding Brazil.

I have a customer three doors away who have a very similar but slightly later machine with 90% of the same components.

Regards

Service life of a forklift is proportional to how well it is maintained.
Dez,

Thank you so much for your help. Yes, it needs a major rebuild, and i'm not sure what parts I need, because I dont have the parts manual.

The thing at the dash is what most confused me, because looking pictures at Google I couldn't find ANY similar Hyster forklift! Maybe it is something added to the model by Hyster Brasil, or someone made a work around for costs.

I don't get the part about your e-mail, do you have this spare parts manual and can send my by e-mail, is that it?

Hi Fabio,

I have seen your pictures, and it's still a Hyster H50F. If you can e-mail me (my e-mail address is listed in the profile) and i'll reply.

What parts are you looging for ? Looks like you are in the process of a major rebuild ?

Not sure what the hideous addition on the dash is, but i guess someone has retrofit a hand operated direction control to replace the original fluid controlling "mototrol" accelerator pedal used to change direction.

Jay,
The dealers are also having a hard time identifying the model. They think that it is a model imported from the USA (I'm from Brazil).

Should be a Hyster H50F fitted with a Perkins Engine 4-203 engine. Hyster parts manual part number is 599012.
The Mast Identifying Number should be stamped on the right hand outer upright approx. 4 feet from the bottom. I have a parts manual, but unfortunatly it's in paper format.

Stupid question, have you tried Hyster dealer? If the parts guy doesnt know on the old lifts they have to add zeros to get it to come up in their system. I dont remember exactly but something like B003A4293R
