Linde (& Baker) H25T:
H25T overheating

We have a Linde H25T that is overheating... the 'two speed' fan won't go to high speed consistently. It works great for about an hour then shows the overheat light on the panel. We replaced the fan... no joy! Any suggestions most welcome... we are lost and so is the current tech.
Thanks in advance...

Hello Micky,
Just wanted to drop you a note on the status... and stress how much we appreciate your suggestions! You hit a "home run"... I asked the tech to double check the radiator for flow... and found it was 'plugged' partially. After quite an effort at cleaning, it is running fine!! The operator says it is totally back to normal.
Many thanks for those suggestions! We definitely "Owe You One"... the tech had overlook a simple solution...
Thanks again,
Barry

Actually from what I am told we changed the motor. That is a Good question on the flow control valve... not sure... but I will confirm. Also a good suggestion idea on the thermostat and seal... no to both. Maybe we should try those first...?
Thanks sincerely... again! :-)

When you say changed the fan, do you mean fan or motor.
If you changed the motor, did you change the flow control valve which is mounted on the motor at the same time.
The fan should rotate at low speed under normal conditions and only go into full speed at over temperature.
Have you checked the engine thermostat and thermostat seal for operation also make sure the engine is pressurising the cooling system.

Hi Micky!
Thanks for helping out with this dilemma... we have been struggling with it something fierce. It is a model H25T serial H2X393S05978 and has the VW engine in it. It currently works well for an hour or better, then reports overheat at the control panel. The radiator 'appears' to be clear, but if I follow your reasoning, we need to confirm it is flowing and not stopped up internally to some extent.
The only significant thing done so far is our tech felt the hydraulically driven cooling fan has failed, and he has replaced it. The operator had noticed that in some instances the fan would go into 'high speed' for short time periods, but then dropped out. That is why they replaced the fan thinking it wasn't moving enough air flow across the radiator. That didn't fix the problem... so we are asking for someone that has deeper insight for an opinion to help us figure it out.
Otherwise the machine appears to be working fine...
Thanks again for any help...! We truly appreciate it...!
Sincerely,
Barry

Hi Barry,
Am I right in assuming that the radiator core/matrix is clean to allow full flow of air from the cooling fan.
If it is clear, can you provide full truck details i.e model and serial number.
