Glow Plugs

Need info about electrical on a Hyster H80XL, SN L005V04255C. The glow plug relay is not energizing (Perkins diesel). Is there a sensor on the engine that controls this relay? If so, where is it? Hyster distributor in my area has not been very helpful.
