Crown 30WTF106A:
Fwd and Rev drive problem- Does anyone have a circuit diagram?

Hi all,
I've just acquired an old Crown 30WTF106A Walkie Stacker fror moving stuff around the shed. When I received it ( auction sale) the batteries were really low in water, as in cant see any so I've spent my time coaxing some life back into them.
At present they are on 24V and despite my doubts they seem to be holding a charge. My issue is the lift works but the drive motor does not.
Symptoms: attempt FWD/REV the contactors click and there is a slight movement of the drive wheel ( rocks in direction of travel) but dosent move unit. I've checked the brake and it seems to be free when the control arm is in operation position.
I'm imagining its a contactor issue, not carrying the current or something but i really need a circuit diagram so I can get into it so if anyone can point me to one or let me know where I can purchase one that would be fantastic. I can post pics if anyone wants to see the insides of one of these or can at least point me to what contactor is doing what.
Cheers
Les

Hi Ifixit,
Sorry for the late reply, you were spot on with the brushes, I cleaned them out and all working like a charm, been using it a few times and the batteries are still holding their charge, I stand amazed on that one... Once again thanks for the pointers.

Thanks for the reply, will do when I get home. I pulled one of the brushes just to see what condition it was in, but I didn't pull all of them, so I'll check that. I did blow compressed air into all of the works and a lot of dust dirt and what looked like carbon blew out. I've watched batteries as the lift motor was running and only drops to 23.8 volts. Will try what you said later, thanks.

Lift the drive tire off of the ground and see if it runs, the brushes seem to stick in the holders on those older models...not making good contact with the armature. Also, check the voltage drop while trying to drive, with a 24v system...stuff starts to drop out at 18.9v
