Clark C500 SERIES:
Fuel tank

Does anyone have a diagram of the Fuel tank for a C500/Y560 or something close? I'm interested in seeing where the fuel pick up is in the tank. What height and position specifically.

The fuel pick up line inside the tank isn't working. Blew air back through it and it doesn't gargle...so i am guessing that the line doesn't go to the bottom of the tank. If it did then air bubbles would come up through the gas instead of just blowing air straight out. I currently have an external tank hooked up on the back and and have bypassed the main tank. I would like to get back to using the main tank.

Why do you want to get into the fuel tank?

The only access panel would be on the top where the fuel sender is mounted

Thanks for the info. Is there an access panel to get inside the tank somewhere?

in most gasoline powered lift trucks the fuel pickup tube is located on the same component as the sensor mounted on top of the tank. If your wanting to know how long the pickup tube is it generally is as deep as the tank is on top mounted units with probably a 1" gap between the tube and the tank bottom.

If not there then it could be along the inside wall of the engine compartment near the base(on same side as tank of course), those type units you can trace the fuel hose from the carb to the pump, to fuel filter and down to the tank feed outlet line.
