Discussion:
FREE FORKLIFT! No drive....

Hi guys, this is my first post!

I have acquired a 02-FG30 that was on its was to the scrapper, it starts and the hydraulics work, however, there is no drive! Things I have checked...

Trans fluid, level but old
Forward reverse arm on the gear box is free moving as is the inching pedal.
The truck rolls so I'm certain the brakes are not binding to the point of stopping it from moving.

with both wheels off the floor they do nudge forwards/backwards but do not continuously spin, nor are there any bad noises actually from the transition.

My experience with torque converters and more traditional style gearboxes is limited as I mostly work on Lindes with Hydrostatic drive. Is there anything else I should try or check? I am capable of removing the engine/gearbox if this is required!

thanks in advance :)

check forward and backward solenoid voltage on trans. if you have voltage when forward switch and no drive ,error in trans. Wiring problem possible when you have not voltage. Check direction relays on circuit board , try to short it and drive again

Ohhh, really this is disappointing.

I think you needed to repalced it with new gear box or if possible visit your nearby Toyota service center so they can resolved the issue. Bye the way if you are looking for new gear box then I whould recommend you get it from "Rehfuss Drive Solutions. They are expertise in drive solutions and leading in industrial tools manufacturing.

Check fluid pressures. Real easy. Cooler line fitting for low side. Should be steady at 40psi. F&R ports are onto of valve body. 1/8 NPT fittings required and a psi gauge of 300psi rating. Clutch pack pressures. Need to be steady and above 120 psi within 3 to 5 seconds of selected direction

You can just crank engine over to see if you have a good pump with a cooler line off. If flow then pressures. If one is low. Possible snap ring or pack blown apart. Either way no pressure it has to come out.
