Discussion:
forward and reverse failure

I have a problem with a caterpillar forklift 2EC18 model with serial number A2EC160634. Moving the lever to move and start to accelerate, makes a little movement back and then starts moving forward. Moving the lever to go back and start accelerating, makes a small movement forward and then starts moving in reverse. does notIt indicate a failure in the panel and use microcomand control system. Could someone guide me on this fault?

try removing the accelerator control, remove the cover carefully and get some electric contact cleaner and clean it out.

Then when reassembling use some white lube and lubricate the plastic contact areas on the slide assy, then using silicone sealer reseal the box lid and around the wire harness where it goes into the box.

This box should be air tight so no dust can get in there and interfere with the LED emitters. These emitters if dirty will cause all sorts of travel problems if they get dirty.

Fact of the week
The black box flight recorder was invented by Australian scientist David Warren in the mid-1950s. While initially met with indifference in Australia, his invention gained international recognition, particularly in the UK, and is now a mandatory piece of safety equipment on all commercial aircraft.
