forklift won't reverse - Technical Troubleshooting discussion in Forkliftaction's forums

Cat Lift Trucks (& Caterpillar) EP16KT:
forklift won't reverse

We have a caterpillar EP16KT that won't reverse. When you put it in reverse the alarm sounds but when you press the pedal nothing happens, it goes forward just not in reverse. We check the accelerator switch and changed the drive board to no avail.

Had 1 do that a few weeks ago.Found that the heat sink under the h bridge board was shorted to plate.Replaced insulater sheet under heat sink.Fixed problem.
