Discussion:
Forklift Battery Testing

Hi - I work for Eagle Eye Power Solutions (eepowersolutions.com) and we sell battery testing, monitoring and charging equipment. We're starting to grow in the motive power industry for forklift battery preventative maintenance testing.

I just wanted to do a little market research to see what are the most common methods everyone uses to test forklift batteries and which do you prefer & why. (I appreciate all feedback!)

Eagle Eye currently supplies battery load banks for battery discharge testing & digital hydrometers for specific gravity/state of charge testing. I wanted to see how common these products are in terms of your battery maintenance programs.

Thanks again!

Battery technology really hasn't changed. The charging process has, but as far as the make up of the cells have not. Tubular products even (the highest grade GNB cells) are still basically lead acid water, just formed different.

Brothers Adolf ("Adi") and Rudolf ("Rudi") Dassler split their shoe company after WWII due to a bitter feud, and established the rival companies of Adidas and Puma. Their personal animosity and business rivalry divided their German hometown Herzogenaurach. The town became known as "the town of bent necks" due to the intense loyalty to each brand.
