i like the low ohm feature for checking motor windings. The only thing that would be better that this meter is a UEI labscope but they cost about 1500 new.
Nice meter. I checked the spec's at Fluke. That would be nice for charger work. You could easily see if it's a surge or spike issue with building power. Good luck with it.
i ended up buying a used fluke 289 off ebay. Definitly the best meter i have ever seen or used,
I've used Fluke DMM's for years. They're a good meter. The problem with the 83 series is it's not a true RMS meter. If you do wire guidence work you'll need it as well as the newer ac trucks. I wouldn't waste my money for our trade with the graphing, trend capture meters. They're more for the straight out electronic tech/engineer. I would recommend the 87 series. It's true RMS, has peak-lock feature, and all the ranges we need in our field.
