Toyota 7HBW23:
Fault codes

I was wondering if anyone had a fault code list for a Toyota 7HBW23. I have two of these machines and it seems every other day I am chasing down a code.

Possible Causes and Corrective Actions
* Master Control ON/OFF switch activated
* Low voltage to power amplifier (especially while lifting or driving) due to over-current or short-circuit.
* Try a known-good battery
* PTC R1 missing, faulty, or tripped (very high resistance, due to excessive current while main contactor is open; should automatically recover).
* Carefully check to see if R1 is hot (tripped). If so, unplug battery and allow it to cool. Locate low impedance path that tripped R1 and correct.
* Wire #24 at 0V due to J5 not connected, blown fuse, or bad wiring. * Check for 24 V at J5-16
* Short or open circuit in CAN wiring, or electrical noise in CAN wiring due to bad connection or outside interference, both at power ON.
* Check CAN wiring
* Try operating truck in different environment
* Bad power amplifier

I would check the battery state of charge and make sure it is good and not dropping voltage......

I just ran into a code E115 problem and it turned out to be the main contactor. The code is not listed in the manual but it does come up.

E115 is usually the main contactor is not functioning properly. I know they have an updated one because of the the problems they were having. I would make sure that the batteries are good first, they can cause a lot of issues with these trucks if they are weak.

Has it got an electric steering motor on it?

On a BT machine ( which this is based on ) E115 on the small stuff is steer servo start up error.

I wonder if you have a particular question we might help with. Some code you are seeing that we might be able to decipher for you?
You were correct to contact the manufacturer's dealer rep to acquire the manual, it seems odd that it would take so long.
ALSO
Are your trucks equipped with Curtis controllers, if so, Curtis instruments has manuals for the controllers (which should include codes and wire schematics) on their web- site.
Search for "Curtis Instruments USA" should get you the code listing for these units.
AND
In my not all that humble opinion, if I had more than 2 units with Curtis controllers to care for, I would sure be wanting to have a Curtis handset. it makes troubleshooting and setup so much easier that it is well worth the $

"it's not rocket surgery"
Hi

What error codes is it throwing up?

It has a BT Rolatruc tiller head on & a Sepex Curtis unit so its most likely based on a 24 volt dc BT Rolatruc electrical system.
