I want to install a system that will shut down a propane forklift if it has sat idling for more than a couple minutes. Any recommendations? These will be installed on two 2004 Toyotas that don't have seat switches. I suppose I could install new seats with switches but maybe they could work off the forward lever and sense when the machine has not been in forward for as certain length of time. I want them to have adjustable time control. Also how do they reset after the machine is automatically shut down and the key is left on. What happens if the headlights are on? Can they be wired to shut down everything? Thanks for any info.

Truck Log by Davis Derby might also be worth a look BUT there a UK based company so might not be much use to someone in the US.
There are a few different models of Truck Log & optional extras depending on exactly what controls you want over the machines.
The headlamp wiring can be changed so they will only come on when the engine is actually running.
also you can lookup a company called keytroller
they have devices that give total control over your lift
another company comes to mind also
shockwatch (not as comprehensive on vehicle control, these deal mainly with operator management and impact monitoring)
just google either one and you will find what you need
Safety Systems and Controls out of Texas has what the call "Idle-Lok" for forklifts.
