Error code 42 6X inform service

Hi Guys and Girls, I'm hoping someone with a bigger brain than me can help. Our Raymond reach truck all of a sudden stopped working. We still have traction but no fork functions at all. Error code 42 6X has come up on the dispaly.
We called the company we bought the machine from and they sent a technician out to look at it. He suspected the battery was flat and the indicator was showing a false reading but after charging overnight, the battery is now reading just over 39v (36v battery) but the problem remains. This particular tech had little experience with Raymond machines and had no workshop manual, so he didn't really have anything else to check.
The battery is about 1 year old but has only had about 5-6 cycles as we don't use the machine that often. It has only ever been charged when the indicator showed less than 15% and has a sensor to tell us when to top up the fluid, so I imagine the battery is in good condition.
If anyone can shed some light on what the error codes mean, it might help me to find the issue or at least point the tech in the right direction.

Thanks for that Lifttrainer. I've had another two techs out to looks at it, the first one said it was a sticky contactor and wanted to charge me $2015 + tax to replace it. The second guy actually looked up the fault codes and diagnosed the same as you, over current in the lift amp. he also tested the contactor and found it was functioning as it should.
It's Friday morning here, the weekend is upon us, so my day is only getting better from here!

Code 42 is LPC is detected closed when commanded open and 6X is an over-current fault for the Lift amplifier which usually means that the lift amp has to be replaced. Since the LPC is controlled by the lift amp and the other code is for an internal failure, I would try the lift amp. Just my two cents...have a great day!

A bit of further information that might help. Fresh off the charger the battery was at 39.3V then after moving the forklift back and forth a few times, I re-checked the voltage and it had dropped to 38.8v. A 0.5v drop in voltage for the very little amount of work, seems a bit excessive to me.
Is it possible the battery has a cell that is fading/dying and the voltage drops too rapidly under load for the machine to function properly?
Now the error code is just showing 6X Inform Service. Does this code correspond with the symptoms of a faulty battery?

Fact of the week
Every year for Thanksgiving, the President of the United States is given a live domestic turkey by the National Turkey Federation (NTF). While these turkeys used to be slaughtered and eaten, during the presidency of George H. W. Bush it became standard practice for the president to issue a ceremonial "pardon" to the turkey.
