Our Crown RC5530-30 periodically gives us the error code of 201. It happened to us last week, and the operator noticed the battery was low so after a full charge it worked as it should. Now the battery is mostly charged but began giving us the error again and stops the lift. It will go forward and reverse in slow speed but if you speed up or try to lift the forks, it will lock out and give this code. Any help would be appreciated. We just purchased this machine used about 6 months ago and the battery was refurbished in 2019 roughly.

Thank you both for that information! I'm very new to the watering system as I just installed all of them around a year and a half ago. I hadn't heard that before but it definitely makes sense.
" I have a watering system connected to the battery so I know the cells have the water level required, "
Single point water systems do not "guarantee" all the cells have the "correct" water level. They are a time saver, but you still need to pull the battery periodically and manually check the water levels in each cell. Every 60 to 90 days is a good practice. These systems are notorious for underfilling as well as overfilling, especially as a battery ages and debris accumulates in the water. Overfilling is usually immediately evident. Underfilling isn't.
Without periodic inspection, you wouldn't know there was an underfilled cell until you have a problem similar to yours.
No problem, and watering systems can actually be quite deceiving. If a float gets stuck, that cell will dry up and you won't find out until its too late, resulting in a cell replacement. Using any water other than distilled is also bad for your battery.
Thank you, I was kind of suspecting it could be something on that order but wasn't sure. I have a watering system connected to the battery so I know the cells have the water level required, but it could still be a dead cell like you said. I will pull the battery out to do those tests. This battery came with the forklift when we purchased it a year ago, but it was a rebuild battery from 2018 so I could see it getting bad.
Sounds to me like the battery is at fault. Several factors here besides just charging. You should have the battery pulled and checked. Check each cells' water level and voltage. What is the static voltage, and voltage under load. I suspect a dead/dry cell.
Update, I ordered two new contactors and replaced the pump contactor and then the one next to it with no results. When the truck is fully charged, it will run just as it is supposed to. Once it gets about half way down on charge it begins giving us the 201 error code. When its fully charged, everything seems to test out fine electrically. Any more help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm thinking the same thing. I think I will get a new one on the way and see if that cures my issue.
Most likely it sounds like a voltage drop across your pump contactor. This can be caused by burnt tips. Cleaning it or even replacing it may solve the issue.
After full charge, the lift is currently not giving me the error. I know it will happen to me again but I will keep monitoring it until it does. I didn't find any loose connections from the battery to access 2 so I am starting to wonder if the Pump contactor wasn't failing on me.
Thank you for the response. I checked the voltage at access 2 first thing this morning and it was quite a bit lower voltage than the battery voltage, like around 13V. I placed it on the charger currently to make sure it has a full charge and the water level is full, but I will verify the reading once it completes charge. I will look at the pump contactor as well.
Error 201 means the access 2 module is getting voltages that are too low or too high. I would check the cables running to the access 2 module for shorting.
If the cables are good, put a dvom on the battery positive and battery negative terminals on the access 2. If voltage is equal to the battery voltage then you will have to calibrate the battery (service menu, calibration, C3.4)
If it is lower than the battery voltage there may be an issue with the pump contactor
