Discussion:
Electric Park Brake Location

I am having an issue with our Hyster e60z's park brake not disengaging. Not the actual foot pedal but the electric brake that activates when seat switch signal is lost. The problem is intermittent so I'm assuming the assembly is dirty or my electrical connections are dirty. Does anyone know what this brake looks like and where it is located? Thanks

I tightened the cable up on it and it's working better mechanically but now the switch is stuck. Still getting a park brake on error.

This one has an electric solenoid on it.

Is it possible to gain access to the brake by removing the battery pack? I really don't have a safe means of lifting the truck enough to get under it and work..

I located the brake hub and a manual release lever under the floor pan. Everything under the truck looks nice. Seems every few times the brake actuates, it pulls the manual release handle down and pulling it will free the brake for another few cycles. So something is certainly loose or binding. When it doesn't release I can hear th solenoid trying to move but it can't.

Drum for seat brake is located on the end of the drive motor,is rod actuacted from the seat, only electrical, connection is a switch to let the controller know, and for the dash light.......probably needs rod adjusted, check all rods and jam nuts make sure one isnt loosening up.
