This unit starts up & runs great. After a while of use it dies out. restarts ok then after a while dies out. There are times it starts then dies out.Every time this unit starts up it goes into a high rpm then back down to normal. Following items we replaced and still having same issues. LP filter, solenoid, regulator, throttle sensors, distributor, tune up, coil. This unit has the spectrum carburation system. I'm lost my next part will be a Bomb. Anybody out there with ideas what else to look for. OH yea also check out charging system that is ok. Oil pressure switch was checked as wells as temp sender. Help!

Ted,
Did you ever get this problem sorted out?
Just another note. This unit is LP gas power by spectrum system. I'm just wonder if the ECU system is defective? has anyone found a place to send it to for repairs if need besides flight systems?
removed one hos unit kept on running. Removed second hose off of ptv valve on carb unit dies out? so what does that mean?
I'll give it a shot thanks for the info. Will keep ya posted
Ted, Check the 2 rubber lines coming off of the regulator. One of them is a atmospheric pressure line which goes from the bottom of the mixer to the trim valve on the regulator. There is another rubber hose down below on the regulator that connects to the top side of the mixer (black 90 fitting). Pull these one at a time and see if there is a change in your issue. Make sure they are not crossed also. One is a vacuum and one is atmospheric. Hope this helps.
We check the grounds , even added another ground same problem.
The fuse is not getting hot.
Had Hyster come out they don't even know. He replace diaphragm in carb which was already done , but still same problem. Sometime you can get a nice high rpm than it dies out. But will start back up right away. Or at times won't start up. Wait 20mn starts right up runs than dies out. One thing for sure one of us is going to the cemetery won't be me LOL. Any other thoughts
I'll have to check voltage reading@ high rpm. Also I believe that the distributor is good it came from a good truck, but I know that don't mean crap. I'll swap out pick up sensor. Funny Thing is I've replaced every component one at a time a did a test run. Still getting same issues. Kind of weird. I'll also check the ground. Yes all fluids are at proper level and sensors were tested.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the info.
Ted Larsen
Check the 'between engine and frame' grounds and look for a glass fuse getting warm at the ends.
When you say "check out charging system that is ok", can you tell us what is the voltage output at high rpm?
did you actually change out the distributor with a known good unit? I have known the 'pick up sensor" to cause these sort of problem.
these units almost always get a 'rev up' as they start up, I don't think you are going to fix that part... if you do, let us know how...
and of course, ?you have checked the fluids (coolant and oil), and not just the sensors for them?
