dash problem

hi all,
i have a 2003 fb16k truck here. when the ignition is turned on the dash works for a second then it turns really dark. any thoughts

looks like the contrast is turned all the way

There is no contrast adjustment on these displays and I would suggest that one of the power circuits within the display is damaged, meaning that a new display would be in order.
