Discussion:
Crown SC4510-50 forklift error "battery gate open" no forward/reverse have hydros

I checked to see if there was a switch on the side panel or top cover, but I don't see any switches/wiring. Can anyone tell me where to look or if there is a connection I can jumper?

Thanks,

John

I jumpered the wires that were accessed under the step panel held by 2 hexhead. I wasnt sure I wanted to drill them out without knowing it was an access but I took the chance. That limit switch looks like a pain to replace. I wish crown didnt use aluminum wires for everything - especially under a step that gets wet and grime. I suppose they saved a few bucks.

Ok, I was able to find the limit switch linkage that the front prong of the door sits on. Pressing it I can hear the limit switch actuating. I think Im looking for broken or corroded wiring at this point. What would be the best way to reach this? Through the pedal assembly plate? Jumping this connection would work for me also.

Thanks again

I dont see any switches on the "passenger" side of forklift where the latch of the battery door actuates into. There was a piece of metal covered with dirt on that side but doesnt look related and I dont see any broken wire leads. The handle for that door was seized up, which I thought was the problem before posting, but I can't find any switch that it might have been pressing.

Thanks for the quick reply

This switch checks to see if the battery gate is in place, normally on an SC its near the back. Easiest way to get the error to go away is take off the battery gates and place them back in. There is one switch on each side for each gate.
