Discussion:
coil wiring / firing problem

We have a mitsubishi fg35ab with a firing problem. We found that the dist. cap was jumping fire inside when the key was on, even when not being cranked. We replaced the cap but still had the same problem. We then replaced the coil/resistor (comes together) then the pickup/module in the dist. Still the same. Any ideas? Also does someone know the wiring connections for the coil? We had previously replaced the resistor with an aftermarket as we could not get it seperately. We may not hve the right wires on the right terminals now.

If that is repeatedly firing sparks by just turning the key on, that is a bad ignitor in the distributor. The piece the pickup coil is connected to.

Fact of the week
The two internal cavities in our nose called nostrils function as separate organs. Each nostril has its own set of turbinates and olfactory receptors. The two independent organs work together through a mechanism called the nasal cycle, where one nostril is dominant for air intake while the other rests and is better at detecting scents.
