I have seen quite a few of these and it is always the flywheel ring gear. Doesn't take much damage at all to throw that code and kill the truck.
you need to check ring gear has no missing/damaged teeth all the way round, turn engine from crank and look in to hole that sensor sits in if any missing it a new ring gear and starter.we do loads every year.
Hi Darren
T246 - Speed sensing fault.
That is the diagnosis info for that fault code.
Thanks Micky,
The error code that appears when it stops driving is T248. What does this code mean?
Darren
Hi Darren,
Sounds like you have a flywheel actual engine speed sensor fault.
You need to check for any damage to the sensor or wiring and need to check the sensor to flywheel ring gear clearance which should be 0.5mm.
If you require any more info please ask.
Micky
