Discussion:
Code 217

Code 217 on SP3400. Changed out steer motor brushes and put in new steering encoder. Code 217 still comes up after replacing encoder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I had an issue like this awhile back on one of my SPs but my issue was intermittent. I ended up finding a damaged mast cable. Replacing the cable solved the issue. I know its a pain but thoroughly check all your wiring/cables and clean plugs and connections with electrical contact cleaner and compressed air. Good luck!
