code 209L Brake Coil Open.

Yale ERP040THN36TE082

the Yale im working on is throwing a 209L code for the brake coil open. The control system is a ZAPI FZ-5018. The display is also showing a 51 Precharge while the key is in the on position. not sure if these are related. Battery voltage is at 38 Volts.

Have you checked the coil resistance? The 51 code indicates the capacitor in the controller is not charged high enough to finish post. Check the PTCs around the line contactor for open. Also make sure there is not a device connected before the line contactor, like a radio or scan gun.
