Discussion:
code 2000-12 can bus

Unit has code 2000-12. Can bus resistance is 40ohms at diagnostic plug. No communications, no spark, no fuel. With steering column mounted termination resistor disconnected bus is at 60ohms. resistor measures 118ohms. i have disconnected ECM,VCM and Termination resistor and now have 117.5ohms? Is there another component on the bus I have not disconnected. I don't have a wiring diagram for this lift. Thanks in Advance.

Would this be an LP or diesel unit? There is a second termination resistor back at the left side of the radiator on most trucks. Make sure to disconnect battery before checking CAN resistance. Also, with all connected, use battery negative and check CAN voltage, should read about 2.5 volts. Between both readings should add up to 4.5 volts. Usually this code is caused by a failed connection. Good Luck

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
