Discussion:
Code 18

What does the code mean? Truck has a steering problem, seems to be it won't stay on center almost like it is hunting for a wire though it doesn't have guidance on it. Truck s/n 2LL03946. Also, have tried several codes but can not get into truck to run learn. Any ideas on codes to try? The truck is built by Raymond and we have a lot of Raymond experience, but we do not have a manual for this truck and our Ray books do not show a code 18. Thank you for any help.

code 18
Deadman Error

Reason: Deadman state descrepancies between Trucktracker steer controller and Vehicle Manager

Corrective actions:
- check connections between JS9-6 and J2-4
- check connections between JS9-1 and J1-3
- Replace steer controller
- Replace Vehicle Manager

I would make sure the deadman pedal switch is operating correctly, then if there are any safety arm switches (if it has safety arms on the sides of the platform) make sure they are working properly. This may not be it but you should make sure the TM and TT are getting the deadman signal from the pedal.

Fact of the week
In 1923, French tennis player René Lacoste was promised a crocodile leather suitcase by his captain if he won his next match. He lost the match but won the nickname "the crocodile" which he had sown onto his tennis attire. Ten years later he launched the first polo shirt and Lacoste, the first brand to feature a logo on its clothing.
