yep, bound to be a mitsu, and [my WAG] the real trick was to take the air filter housing out.
That's gotta be a Mitsu. 4G64 probably. As stated, could drive the machine steer tires up on blocks to get some room from the bottom.
I have been trying, but I can not resist....
[first a smiley :-) , so everyone knows this is just kidding]
you don't have to pull the motor if you remove the mast, transmission/trans-axle and frame...
OK now wipe that smile off my face and get serious,,,
while there are some older Clark forklifts that require some special considerations when doing what would be a simple job on a lot of machines [inboard puck type brakes come to mind].
what motor is fitted in this truck? what part of {getting to the bolts that hold it in, or getting the loose starter out of the hole} are you having your difficulty?
?serial number?
I have yet to run into a forklift that needed the engine pulled to change the starter, granted some are packed in there pretty tight and are a bear to get out. Might have to jack the truck up and block it up with Hardwood blocks so you can take it out from the bottom.....
That's a good question!
If you need to pull the engine in order to remove the starter then that is yet another reason for the demise of Clark in the day.
