what 2 cyls are down? center 2? how did you check spark? while running, disconnect each coil one at a time. If one coil makes no diff in idle, swap it with good coil. did it change? if not, remove all plugs first and do compression test. Head gasket between cyls 2, 3 commom. Bad coil or spark plgs can give this code.

Take me as i come, cause i can't stay long....
I have the famous E-27 code on a 2006 Nissan 30 forklift, MCPL01A15LV. Running Propane/LP. This lift has 600 hours. It doesn't get used much. Only to unload a truck maybe once or twice a week. It only runs for 5-10 mins most of the time. I've done a full tune up, new spark plugs, filters, fluids, etc. I replaced both crank and cam sensors. I did the pedal dance as directed above. This cleared the code and the fork lift ran decent for about 5 hours. On cold startup its idles up and down a bit but after its warmed up it runs fine, seems the throttle response is a bit sluggish to me though.

I've checked the coils and they are all working fine. It will only run on 2 cylinders. I did notice the plugs look a little browner in the 2 inner cylinders when i replaced them.

I'm starting to believe this E-27 code is a fuel issue. Can anybody chime in here please? I question if the regulator is gummed up or maybe the vaporizer? P.S i'm not a forklift tech. Just a mechanic trying to learn more about propane.
I replaced the crankshaft sensor & still no start?
Any ideas mate?

New spark plugs have a cutback on the lower threads to keep carbon from building up. The aftermarket coils are a crap shoot 3 good 1 bad. All good or all bad.

Thanks for the fast reply. I'm with ya as to aftermarket. I was kinda in a hurry and hoped I get lucky. You don't happen to have a good source or the part numbers?

I contacted the closest OEM supplier and they haven't responded.

Greeting fellows-
Nissan 30 | Propane | Died, will not restart. Flashing Code 28 | Local parts store crossed crank sensor to aftermarket brand. However, the aftermarket "crank" sensor plug fit the cam sensor plug. So I put the aftermarket "crank" sensor in the cam sensor hole. Can I purchase a second "crank" sensor and alter the engine harness crank sensor plug to fit the aftermarket sensor? (LOL, I've no idea if this makes sense, however I'm hitting submit! Thx n advance

these K21/K25 engines are COP style coils one coil per cylinder,to find what coil maybe giving you problems, run the engine and unplug three of the coils, these engine will lope/idle on one cylinder if it stays running then try the next coil and so on,if you find a coil that wont keep the engine loping/running replace it.

cat has a bulletin out on this code
first thing they say to check before you go deep into diagnosis is the sparkplugs, if they are worn and do not fire correctly it can trigger this code.
They also say to check the coil packs, wiring associated with them also.

What happens when the plug gap gets wide or a coil pack fails the ecm tries to compensate the difference and causes the other components such as pos and phase sensors to go out of range. This is where the ecm thinks its a sensor issue... due to the inability to compensate.

Of course they go into alot of other scenario's that can create this code but those are the 2 most common issues that trigger an e-27.
As for all the dash lights flashing? kevin is correct, when the code hardsets in the ecm memory it goes into limp mode and hardsets the code. Only way it can be removed is through the clear cmd via the laptop program or possibly the 'pedal dance'.
Remember though, the pedal dance will not clear all codes, some of them have to be cleared with the diagnozer program.

The Michelin Guide with its star rating system originated in France in 1900. The guide was created as a marketing tool to encourage more car travel and consequently increase the demand for tyres. It initially contained maps, tire repair instructions, and lists of restaurants, hotels, and mechanics.
