Discussion:
CAT Forklift problem-no power to drive up small hills or any inclines

Hello,
I just purchased a 2000 CAT E6000I GC30K Forklift. Runs great, turns great. No smoke. However, it lacks power to drive up a small incline ramp or get over a bump. Also, i have to rev up the rpms to lift the forks, or make it over the small bump.

Any suggestions plan of attack? Should I start with the propane system clean (carb, filters, diaphragm) or not sure if it has an inch valve or disconnect valve.

Please advise.

just a couple questions
- an E6000I? (actually theres no such thing as an E6000I, its just E6000), or a GC25K? there is a big difference between the two trucks.(one is electric and the other is gas/lpg powered). hmmm.....

- can you look on the dataplate and get the complete model and serial number and come back with that?
- How many hours are on the truck?

can't help you unless we know which truck it is
;o)

It only lifts if my foot is pressing down on pedal ( no problem lifting heavy loads as long as I continuously rev the engine).

Not sure if this is normal for a CAT but my old Clark would lift without having to rev the engine.

How does the unit react when lifting a capacity load- struggle or no problem.

If unit lifts capacity load with no problem you may have a trans issue

Fact of the week
Funerals in Spain typically occur within 24 to 48 hours of death, whereas in other European countries they wait one or more weeks. This rapid timeframe is a cultural norm grown from the past need to manage the warm climate without modern embalming.
