Florida is not just 1 economy, nor is it tied as close to the fortunes of middle America and manufacturing, as is Michigan.
So. Florida's economy is tied closer to South and Central America's economy than to middle class America. Central Florida is Tourism and agriculture, and more closely reflects the US economy.

It really just depends on who you ask. This is all really up for opinion.

If your with BW over there in the UK you probably dont want to relocate to FLA right now with BW. I'm still friends with a lot of techs there and it has been years for most of them since they took home consistent paychecks. They really dont have a work load that would validate adding more techs.
The economy in Florida is dying. Your better off to stay where you are or look elsewhere. Florida is going to be the next Detroit!

getting the right to work in a foreign country is not exactly straight forward. you need to contact the nearest US consulate or embassy to inquire about the forms and requirements for a work permit type visa
