broken timing belt

I've got a broken timing belt on a FE engine. Serial # A809N05268U. As far as I can tell from reading, it's not an interference type engine, but I'd like confirmation of that if possible. I'd rather not pull the head if I can avoid it. Lots of oil under the timing covers, which I assume killed the belt. Only, I can't tell if it's coming from the cam seal or crank, or if it's a bad front cover gasket. Anyone know if this is common, and what the usual cause is? I don't want to replace everything if I don't have to. But I don't want to put another belt on it until I'm reasonably sure it will stay dry. Any suggestions?

Its not a interference engine, I have never seen any valve damage from a broken belt. The seal in the front plate on the cam shaft is probably leaking. Pull the covers and you may be able to see where the oil is coming from.
